PROTECCION ANIMAL CABRERA (P.A.C.) is a group of dedicated volunteers tirelessly aiding animal welfare in Cabrera and the surrounding areas. The main mission is to reduce the spread of zoonotic diseases as well as eradicate the over-population of dogs and cats that live on the streets and certain sections of Cabrera and surrounding villages. Spaying and neutering programs maintain control over the excessive reproduction of animals and thus decrease inhumane actions practiced by humans against the animals and in addition aid maintaining our natural and social environments in optimum health and safety conditions for both humans and animals.

This initiative aims to establish processes to minimize, control and care for the population of stray animals as well as educate residents of Cabrera and its surroundings to care for and maintain our natural and social environments in optimum conditions of hygiene and safety with regards to domestic and/or stray animals.

Goals:

  1. Eradicate the over-population of dogs and cats that live on the streets
  2. Control the excessive reproduction of animals
  3. Reduce the spread of zoonotic diseases
  4. Educate and create awareness on animal welfare issues

Methods:

  1. Sterilization clinics
  2. Vaccination and deworming clinics
  3. Humane education in schools and community outreach
